About
Inspired by our nan...
Josie’s Place is named after nan, Josie, who was the heart of our family. Whenever there was news to share, whether happy, sad, or somewhere in between, her home was where we all gathered. It was a place filled with love, laughter, comfort, and the feeling that everyone belonged.
That’s exactly what I wanted to create here. Josie’s Place is more than just a coffee shop; it’s somewhere to catch up with friends, celebrate life’s milestones, support one another through difficult times, or simply enjoy a quiet moment with a great coffee. We hope everyone who walks through our doors feels as welcome, safe, and at home as we always did at Nan’s.
Our family has deep roots in Stockton. Nan spent her whole life here, as did her parents, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. This village means everything to us, and it’s incredibly special that people still come into Josie’s Place and share their memories of her.
Now, we should probably admit one thing, despite the café being named after Nan, she wasn’t known for her cooking, and she much preferred a very weak cup of tea to a coffee! But her mum, my great-grandma Violet, delivered bread around Stockton and the surrounding villages, and I’d like to think I’ve inherited a little of her love for bringing good food and people together.
Whether you’re joining us for coffee, breakfast, lunch, or simply a chat, welcome to Josie’s Place. We can’t wait to share a little piece of our family with you.
